The calm before the storm? And starting the week off right.

Something absolutely crazy happened last night….

IT RAINED.

It literally has not rained here in…months. So it was an extremely welcomed change. Especially because it brought with it about 10°f cool weather, so we’ll finally be out of the 100s (for a few days anyway).

It was not a bad ending to an already long day. I absolutely love the rain, especially after being in a drought for so long.

Yesterday, when we woke up, I declared to my husband that it was “mommy’s day off”, and hoped he would understand that to mean “get everyone out of my house for a few hours”.

That was not the case.

Instead, what happened was, he decided to take EVERYTHING out of our bedroom, put it in the hallway, deep clean our room, throw a lot of shit away, and reorganize what remains.

My husbands fine work yesterday

Obviously, NOT a one person job. And specifically, not a job a husband can handle on his own. So…there goes my “day off”.

To be honest, the project isn’t done, and we still have another days worth of work ahead of us in terms of reorganizing and putting things away in a better spot. Except for that my husband is at work, and I have 2 kids and a days worth of appointments. So…yeah. Great stuff.

Day 2…everything that remains

Our room does look and feel better. And it’s something that I’ve been complaining about for a long while now…so I am glad he just kind of…did it.

One day, ONE day. I will get that day off. Maybe? 😂

Today is Monday, and that means it’s therapy night. Which is easily my favorite night of the week. It’s the one night I get to focus on myself, my thoughts and my needs, and hopefully get something out of it to feel strong enough for the week to come.

As always, there’s just a LOT going on in my life. There always is, there probably always will be.

But I can officially say that next week, NEXT WEEK(!!!!!!!), my trips begin. Wednesday night is my travel night, and I am just so, so excited.

Anyway, here’s to hoping to kick this week off on the right foot.

And even MORE here’s to hoping that the germs stay away and my son in school doesn’t bring home and illnesses before I go away. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

    1. Oh I’m doing ALL the “stay healthy” things. Copper wand, zicam, elderberry, avoiding my children like the plague…😂

But yeah. Having a clean room that isn’t just cluttered is always important to me. So I am glad he took the initiative
