Well, it’s here. Induction day is here. After 39 weeks, a lot of chaos, and a lot of patience…it’s finally time to meet this baby.
We are scheduled to get to the hospital at 5pm and the actual induction process should happen I think sometime in the early morning.
Since I’m already pretty far progressed (I was 4cm dilated already at my appointment last week) and I have fast labors in general, I’m assuming this whole process will be very fast. I’m assuming he’ll be born in the early hours of the morning, but of course that depends on when they actually start the process.
I’m nervous but excited. I think I’m the most nervous for his safety and his health. He doesn’t move very much, and he’s a very “gentle” baby…so I’m concerned that that reflects how severe his muscular condition will be. Especially the last few days, his movements have been very scarce.
I just want him to be okay.
I can’t wait to actually see him and meet him and hold him and just all of it. You only get to meet your baby for the first time once, and I know from my other kids just how fast it all goes.
I’ve gained 29 pounds, and let me tell you, I’m ready to be rid of it. My body has not tolerated the extra burden well, and I’ve paid for it in terms of pain and fatigue.
So, that’s where we are. About to be at the hospital and induced. And whatever happens happens.
If I had to guess his weight (keeping in mind that older brothers were born at 6lbs and 7lbs, 4oz)…I would probably guess his birth weight will be between 7lbs 2oz and 7lbs 6oz.
So we’ll see how it goes!
Nothing to do now but wait.
I’ll try to write and keep accurate updates (because I know you all care just so much!) and because I’m assuming I’ll have a lot of time on my hands…where I’m hopefully not in excruciating pain…but, we’ll see.
Hopefully it’s a typical, boring, uneventful induction that ends with a perfect baby boy.
I’m just glad we made it and that we’re here.
