Nearly perfect

As I’m writing this, it’s 7:25am, and I’m on my first of many long walks to the park. This morning is Islands of Adventure, which opens at 8, to rush to the new roller coaster, Hargrids Motorbike Adventure. Yeah, us and everyone else.

It is absolutely the best ride here, and anything that makes me smile out loud is something worth repeating.

Yesterday was a good day, but it had its moments that gave me a good bit of anxiety. Nothing worth mentioning in this post…but definitely something within me that needs addressing. Specifically, how I’m completely intolerant and anxious when people around me drink.

Other than that panic attack…yesterday was great. For “lunch”, we got Butterbeer ice cream, which was exactly as good as it sounds. It was perfection in a souvenir cup. And unlike it’s frozen Butterbeer counterpart…it did NOT betray me.

We went back to the room after that to change into our water shoes and water proof clothing so that we could head back into the parks and ride the 2 water rides that they have in IOA….and you guys…when I say you get wet on these rides…I do not mean a little wet.

I mean, when you ride these 2 rides, there will no longer be a dry spot on you. It’s as if you jumped head first into the deep end of the pool. So, yes, if you don’t want your park touring sneakers getting soaked, go change first.

We went back to the room and dried off after that, just in time for the near daily afternoon rain here in Florida.

Dinner last night was at the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium…and you guys already know about my intense chocolate addiction. So, I spent some money in the gift shop there. I may or may not have gotten an octopus shot glass

I got the shrimp mac and cheese, which, yes. Was delicious. A little more basic than I usually like to order, but it didn’t disappoint.

We also got the baked brie as an appetizer, and that was perfection.

After dinner, we went back to the resort and went into the pool for a little bit. And by that, I mean, my family went into the pool, and I stood on the steps of the pool while drinking my drink in my refillable hotel mug.

When all was said and done, I ate the best cotton candy macaroon ever that we got from the Toothsome gift shop. It was like…the best thing I’ve ever had in my life.

It was a good day, and already a busy morning here today. My body is feeling it, but we’re going to ignore that because we can rest and slow down later. We’re here for a good time, not a long time.

Like I said, I’m just here living my best Harry Potter life, and trying to pretend that real life no longer exists.
