We can still have the day we want to have

This morning started off with getting my usually very happy and agreeable (newly) 2 year old out of bed, changing his diaper, getting him dressed and bringing him out to the kitchen, where his breakfast awaits him already on the table, where his 2 older brothers are eating.

Well, this same 2 year old decided to wake up and choose violence this morning 🤦🏻‍♀️

We alligator rolled through our diaper change, where I only narrowly avoided having a huge poop mess everywhere as a result. He then ate breakfast, but got displeased when daddy went outside to deal with big brother…and proceeded to knock his breakfast plate off of his high chair, shattering it into a thousand pieces.

And then threw a pretty massive fit when we had to put him down in the pack and play momentarily to clean up all the shards.

This very same 2 year old is now sitting in his rear facing car seat as we wait for PT to start in about 10 minutes.

He’s got his Harry Potter wand that he’s playing with, while also singing a very cute song of “ma ma daaa” (mama and dada) over and over again.

He’s clearly gotten over his grumpy start and is ready to move on with his day and resume his typical happy go lucky attitude.

We all have a rough start sometimes.

We all have those mornings or days or weeks or months that don’t always go as planned.

But we can recover. We can move on. And we can have the day that we want to have.

Even if it doesn’t always start off the way we want it to.
